Where Ink Studio AI is the better choice
- You only need a stencil or a font preview. Its stencil and font tools are free, run in the browser and need no account. Ours need an account for AI stencils.
- You want more fonts to compare. Ink Studio compares your text in 46 fonts; our classic preview has 19.
- You want a short burst of unlimited generations. A pass gives unlimited text-to-tattoo for 7, 14 or 30 days and does not renew.
Where Tatany is the better choice
- You are covering or extending an old tattoo. Our tattoo cover up tool lets you brush over the part to change and choose Full Cover or Rework & Extend, and the tattoo filler designs pieces for the gaps between tattoos. We found neither tool on Ink Studio.
- You want more free AI generations. 15 welcome credits plus one free standard generation every day, against one free generation.
- You come back over months. Credit packs keep their credits for ten years, so you are not racing a 7-day or 30-day pass.
- You need the stencil printed at size. On Pro and Studio, our tattoo stencil generator exports an A4 or Letter PDF at an exact width in centimetres, mirrored if needed, with a scale ruler.
Verdict
Ink Studio AI is hard to beat for free stencils and font previews, and its passes suit an intense week of exploring. Tatany suits cover-ups, gap fillers, slower projects spread over months and print-ready stencils. Both let you start for free, so try the same idea in each.
