About Tatany

Who builds Tatany, what the AI tattoo generator can and cannot do, how we check the information on this site, and how to reach us.

Tatany is a small web product for people who want to see a tattoo idea before it goes anywhere near skin. You describe a design, or upload a sketch or photo, and the site sends that request to an AI image model that draws tattoo-style concepts in your browser.

What the site is for

Most tattoos start as a feeling or a few words: a grandmother's handwriting, a mountain from a trip, a dragon that wraps the forearm. Turning that into something an artist can work from is the hard part. We built the generator to shorten that step. It lets you try fine line, blackwork, traditional, Japanese, watercolor and other styles on the same idea, adjust size and placement in the prompt, and keep every version in your history.

What it is not: a replacement for a tattoo artist. A generated image is a concept. A professional still decides line weight, adapts the design to the curve of your body, makes the stencil and does the work. We say this on the product pages too, because a design that looks crisp on a screen does not always heal the same way.

How the generator works

The tools use two third-party image models: GPT Image 2.5, the default, and Nano Banana 2, which you can choose in the generator and image-to-tattoo tools. The tattoo idea generator writes its text concepts with DeepSeek. Each option shows its credit price before you run it, and paid plans can render in 2K. The model names belong to their providers; we are an independent service and are not endorsed by any of them.

Because outputs come from those models, results vary with the prompt, the reference image and the provider's own updates. We do not promise that any one prompt will always produce the same picture.

How we keep information accurate

Pages on this site describe the interface you can actually use. Before we publish a feature claim we check it in the product: which models are listed, what they cost, which output sizes they support and whether uploads are accepted. Advice about tattoos themselves—how fine lines age, why lettering should be proofread—is written as general guidance and points you back to your artist for decisions about your body.

Our Editorial Policy explains in more detail how we test claims, date updates and fix mistakes.

Who writes our guides

William Mercer is Tatany's founder and CEO and an AI SaaS entrepreneur. He builds the product and writes the tattoo guides on our blog, checking each one against its linked sources and the live tools before it is published, as our Editorial Policy describes.

He is not a tattoo artist. Advice about skin, healing and technique comes from working artists, studios and dermatology research, and every guide links to the sources it relies on.
